Prof. Faleye Francis Jide, obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State in 1994 with Second Class Upper Division in Chemistry. He proceeded to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he bagged a Master degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2001 and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2008.

Prof. Faleye was employed as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Chemistry, Ekiti State University on 4^th September, 1995. He became a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2018. He has served as Assistant Director Pre-Degree program, (2012 -2015), Ag. Head of Department of Chemistry (2015-2017), Chairman, Faculty of Science Postgraduate Committee, Member, College Board of Postgraduate Studies, Member, University Senate and Member of other several statutory and ad-hoc committees at different times. Professor Faleye is currently the Head, Department of Industrial Chemistry.  

His research interest is in area of natural products and medicinal chemistry, isolation and characterization of components of medicinal plants. He has attended and presented papers at conferences/workshops. He has also served as Internal and External examiners for postgraduate examinations within and outside the University and as a reviewer of both local and international journals. He has supervised several projects both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has published over forty papers to his credit in both local and international journals of high repute.

Prof. Faleye is a member of Chemical Society of Nigeria and a member of Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria.

Prof. Faleye is married to Mrs. Oluwabukola Olapegba Faleye and the marriage is blessed with godly children.
