ATURAMU, Adeyinka Oluyemi, The current Head of Department of Geology is an experienced Geologist fit for both the industry and academia. My teaching experience spans across several institutions of higher learning: Federal University, State University and one of the foremost private University in Africa. He has adequate research skills in Micropaleontology, Palaeoceanography, Sedimentology, Petroleum Geoscience, Paleontology, Biostratigraphy and General Geology.
With the first two degrees from the then Ondo State University and University of Ado-Ekiti (BSc: 1997), and the University of Ado-Ekiti (MSc: 2008), Adeyinka is a research professional with Ph.D. focused on Micropaleontology from University of Leicester, England in 2015.
A semantic scholar, who studies the history of life on Earth over hundreds of millions of years. He has great passion for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) using physical and biological proxies. His research strength lies in using data from laboratory work, having eyes for little details.
An Associate Professor Geology, he was appointed as a Deputy Director (Training) in the Office of Research, Development Innovations, Ekiti State University (2017 – 2020), Deputy Director, University Central laboratory (2020 -2022). He is currently the Head, Department of Geology, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.
Adeyinka is a member of several learned societies and professional bodies including the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), Council of Nigeria Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG), Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), The Micropaleontology Society (TMS) of England and the Paleontological Association (PALASS) of the United Kingdom. He is also a member is Geological Society of America (GSA).
He has over forty published learned articles in reputable international and local journals to his credit in addition to three chapters in books. Most recently, he has focused his research on examining the anthropogenic activities such as threat to the biosphere from humans; finding ways out to improved environmental ecology. He does a bit of motivational and charitable activities.
