Adebiyi, Adedeji Olayinka earned his B.Sc. (Botany) degree, from the University of Ilorin (2001) and the M.Sc. (Plant Resources Management) degree from the University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) (2006). In 2015, he obtained the Ph. D. degree (Ecology of Lower Plants) from Ekiti State University, Ado- Ekiti. His academic career started in Ekiti State University, Ado–Ekiti where he rose through the ranks from Assistant Lecturer (2008) to Senior Lecturer (2017). He is currently the acting Head of Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology. His research interest has focussed on the application of lower plants such as thallophytes, bryophytes, and pteridophytes in food security, bio-monitoring air pollution and maintenance of human health. This has led to the publication of thirty-nine articles in both local and international journals of repute. He has mentored and co-supervised some M.Sc. theses. Adedeji Olayinka Adebiyi is a member of the Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON) and a fellow of the African Scientific Institute (ASI).
He is a dedicated family man and happily married with children.
